15 of the Best Adventurous Engagement Locations in Ontario


1) Scarborough Bluffs

Scarborough Bluffs is an Ontario wonder. The towering cliffs make for a stunning contrast against the open sky and vibrant blue water.

2) Scotsdale Farm

Scotsdale Farm has definitely picked up traction this year, and it’s no wonder why. Free parking, no permits required, and total access to a multi acre property with so much diversity.

My favourite spots are the tree tunnel leading up to the parking lot, the fields, the forest, and the barn area.

3) Sunflower Farms

Sunflower farms are a great spot for adventurous engagement sessions.

My top two suggestions are the Sunrise Sunflower Farm, and The Apple Orchard's Sunflower farm.

4) Tiffany Falls

Tiffany Falls is one of Hamilton’s best waterfalls. The parking lot is tight, but the Falls has easy access and makes for the perfect adventurous setting. There’s also a picturesque bridge leading to the falls.

5) Crawford Lake

Crawford Lake not only has a beautiful boardwalk surrounding the lake, but it also has an open field if you’re willing to trek through a small bushy area. It’s completely open has offers beautiful views of the sunset. So worth it! The forest leading up to the lake is perfect for photos, and you can even find some lookout points around the lake that make for awesome adventurous views.

6) Bayfront Park

Many Hamilton locals love this space, and it’s no wonder why. The walk around the full premises is long, so be sure to have a spot in mind beforehand. My personal favourite spots are on the south east side of the park, with views of the harbour and the water. It’s oh so beautiful at sunset!

7) Sherman Falls

Sherman falls is another location that is great for every season. The trail down the market lot is good for photos, as well as the bridge the crosses the stream leading up to the falls. You can also take photos right up near the falls!

8) Dundas Peak

Dundas Peak has gained popularity over the years, and it’s well deserved. The cliff hangs over a deep valley to the right, and a railroad track with views of Hamilton to the left. The location is great at sunset, and is a stunning backdrop for elopements!

9) Princess Point

Close to Bayfront Park, this area is a Hamilton paradise. The horizon beyond the bay features lush green trees, and the trail leading down is filled with yellow wildflowers. There is also a forest down the path. So much diversity!

10) Hamilton Water Front

The Hamilton waterfront by “Hutches on the Beach” is my personal favourite. The fields leading up to the lake are lush and perfect for photos. Down by the lake the rocks and view of the skyline really make for the perfect combination. You can also take photos inside the vintage diner at Hutches.

11) Sam Lawrence Park

Sam Lawrence Park holds beautiful views of Burlington Bay and city skyline. Around the premises there a variety of wildflowers, rocks paths, and gardens.

12) Royal Botanical Gardens

The RBG is another popular wedding venue that can also be booked for engagement photos. The property features an outdoor garden, pond and lot’s of greenery. There’s also an indoor greenhouse that is beautiful year round. It features lush greenery and stone architecture that makes for amazing photos.

13) Spencer Smith Park

When the cherry blossoms bloom, Spencer Smith park is absolutely beautiful. Even year round, this tree path is a great spot for photos. You can also venture down by the lake, or even hit the village square nearby.

14) Kerncliff Park

Kerncliff Park is very open with many options for backdrops. Featuring rock cliffs, golden grass, foliage, and a boardwalk.

15) The Bruce Peninsula

Fort those who are up for a drive up North, the Bruce Peninsula is stunning in every season. My personal favourite spot is the Grotto. Make a mini vacay out of your adventure session! Contact me to help plan your visit.
